Untitled
De Havilland DH-98 Mosquito T3
Waddington (WTN / EGXW)
UK - England, May 30, 1981
Remark
Photographer
G-ASKH / RR299/HT-E Whilst the Hurricane and Spitfire took most of the credit as allied combat aircraft of WWII the versatile all wooden Mossie deserved equal acclaim. When it entered service it was the fastest operational aircraft in the world. Over 7000 were built and this was the last airworthy example, tragically crashing with both crew killed at Barton, Manchester during an airshow on 27th July 1996. Kodachrome 64 and converted to black and white for mood.
