J-1758 (cn 928) One of Europe's most spectacular gate-guards now welcomes visitors to the Grove Technology Park. The site of the former RAF Grove (closed in the 1960s) is now owned by Robert Lamplough, and his genorosity has created this amazing tribute. Lamplough is himself a Spitfire pilot. This site is now home to the Williams F1 team. Painted in false RAF 145 squadron markings, this is actually ex-Swiss AF J-1758 (later N203DM, G-BLSD). |

J-1790 (cn 431) A Swiss-built Venom which served with the Swiss Air Force as J-1790. After retirement the civil registration G-VENM was reserved but never taken up. Later flown on the airshow circuit as G-BLKA (painted with RAF markings as 'WR410'). She's gradually being restored here at the DeHavilland Aircraft Heritage Centre, slowly re-acquiring her original Swiss markings. |

J-1790 (cn 431) Built under de Havilland license by EKW (Federal Aircraft Factory) in Switzerland in 1957 and served with the Swiss Air Force as J-1790. Later operated on the airshow circuit, flown out of Cranfield by Sandy Topen. At that time she was registered as G-BLKA and painted as WR410 of the Royal Air Force. Acquired by the de Havilland Aircraft Museum and re-assembled just a few weeks prior to this image being taken. Note the quirky mix of Swiss AF and RAF panels at this time. |
