VH-AES (cn 6021) Avalon International Air Show 2013 - It was nice to see the DAKs back in the air at Avalon. The last time I saw this bird it was sitting idle at Tullamarine airport, Victoria. She was gleaming in the more pleasant conditions of the weekend. The livery depicts Trans Australia Airlines first DC-3. This particular aircraft was first registered in Australia on the 6th of September 1988 and was manufactured in 1942. |

N877MG (cn 20806) The Historic Flight Foundation’s Pan Am DC-3 is just about to lift off on its inaugural flight as part of the collection. Keen observers might notice the telephone in the long rear-most window – this aircraft, at one time converted to a Super DC-3, served as an executive transport prior to a long period of storage and the subsequent restoration. |
