S-9 At The Proud Bird Restaurant. Designed as a dive bomber, the most produced variant of the Dauntless, the SBD-5, was primarily built at the Douglas plant at Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was equipped with a 1,200 hp (895 kW) engine and increased ammunition. Over 2,400 were assembled. |

NX670AM / 39 (cn 3883) Edwards AFB Open House 2006. Delivered to the RNZAF in 1944 and flew 30 combat missions against Rabaul in Papua New Guinea. After the Second World war this aircraft was delivered to the USMC. Since 1968 the aircraft belongs to "Planes Of Fame" from Chino, CA. Restoration of the aircraft began in 1982 and it flew again in 1987. (Canon 350D + Sigma 18-125) |
