G-BOPO (cn 021) Seen arriving for the LAA Rally, the Optica is a type that first flew in 1979 with the unusual ducted fan pusher propellor. It has excellent low speed characteristics and superb all round visibility with a cabin that is reminiscent of an Alouette II helicopter. The type is a far cheaper alternative to helicopters for surveillance operations such as Police work. |

G-BOPO (cn 021) It was a real treat to see an Optica in the air again. The Optica first flew in 1979 with the unusual ducted fan pusher propellor. It has excellent low speed characteristics and superb all round visibility making it a cheaper alternative to helicopters for surveillance operations such as Police work. It is hoped that these may soon re-enter production |

G-BOPO (cn 021) Back on the display circuit after some 11 years, John Edgley and his Optica. Apparently he hopes to reopen the production line. |
