Aer Lingus
Fokker F-27-100 Friendship
Cork (ORK / EICK)
Ireland, April 1962
Remark
Photographer
EI-AKD (cn 10109) The first Aer Lingus plane to land at Cork was a Friendship on a proving fight from Dublin on 12th October 1961. From the official opening four days later Friendships operated some of the scheduled services to Dublin and London. They still had this classic colour scheme. Six months later the bare red earth of the new airport had still to be grassed.

Untitled
Fokker F-27-100 Friendship
Groningen - Eelde (GRQ / EHGG)
Netherlands, October 29, 2013
Remark
Photographer
(cn 10245) Former PH-FFL, LN-SUE, SE-KZD . The frame was acquired by the airport in 2011 to serve as a fire trainer. However, real fire isn't used, since that would be a waste of the frame. In stead, it is used to practise evacuations and tactics. Unfortunately the tail section was damaged badly in todays storm, as hurricane winds haunted the Netherlands and the UK. The tail section couldn't withstand >50kt gusts and almost broke off. Hopefully it can be fixed at a later point in time!

Untitled
Fokker F-27-100 Friendship
Lelystad (LEY / EHLE)
Netherlands, June 27, 2013
Remark
Photographer
PH-NVF (cn 10102) Nicely preserved at the Aviodrome in her original demonstrator colours, the second prototype Fokker Friendship had a long career with LTU, IFG and WDL as D-BAKI before acquisition for preservation in 1995. Actually the third F27 built, as the second was a static test airframe; parts of prototype F27 PH-NIV's fuselage are stored behind one of the hangars at Lelystad

NLM - Nederlandse Luchtvaart Maatschappij (Fokker Heritage Flight)
Fokker F-27-100 Friendship
Lelystad (LEY / EHLE)
Netherlands, June 27, 2013
Remark
Photographer
PH-FHF (cn 10105) Looking great in full NLM colours, the Fokker Heritage Flight F27 is unfortunately grounded at present due to insurance complications. This is a very historic aircraft, being the third F27 to fly and the first to be operated by an airline after Aer Lingus took delivery of her on 19.11.58 as EI-AKA (subject of the original Airfix kit)
