Grumman E-2C Hawkeye (G-123)
Marietta - Dobbins ARB (Atlanta NAS) (MGE / KMGE)
USA - Georgia, November 7, 1991
Remark
Photographer
161780 / AJ-600 Still the Bear Aces CAG bird, this is the same Hawkeye I photographed over 2 years earlier (see photo 2485773), and it looks very good. It also still wears the same beautiful color scheme as before, and this is certainly one of the last couple of times I saw a Hummer so dressed; overall Gloss Gull Gray became (and is still current) the standard c/s.

Grumman E-2C Hawkeye (G-123)
Marietta - Dobbins ARB (Atlanta NAS) (MGE / KMGE)
USA - Georgia, December 13, 1991
Remark
Photographer
160989 / AF-600 An essential element of the Carrier Air Wing (Reserve) 20 practice Alpha Strike was this E-2C Hawkeye, functioning as airborne command and control. Seen here on the NAS Atlanta VA-205 Green Falcons (A-6 Intruders) line just prior to departure, it is the squadron CAG bird (unusually carries the sqn. CO's name and not CAG under cockpit window) and is finished in the now standard c/s of overall Gloss Gull Gray. It belonged to VAW-78 Fighting Escargots("carries its home on its back!") Norfolk, VA.

Chino (CNO)
USA - California, July 26, 2013
Remark
Photographer
161344 / 603 (cn A-75) This E-2 was delivered in Jan. 1989 and served with VAW-78 & -110 before being transferred to VAW-115 in 1994. She was then shore based at NAF Atsugi, Japan and did three tours of duty aboard USS Independence before retirement in 1998 and arriving at the super Yanks Air Museum for restoration and display in 2001.

Grumman E-2C Hawkeye (G-123)
Marietta - Dobbins ARB (Atlanta NAS) (MGE / KMGE)
USA - Georgia, September 19, 1989
Remark
Photographer
161780 / AJ-600 Along with the S-3 Viking, the Hawkeye was probably among the last Navy aircraft type to carry the Gloss Gull Gray and Insignia White color scheme; I saw this on these planes until almost the mid-90s. This is the CAG bird for VAW-124 Bear Aces (the patch at this time looked similar to the insignia behind the cockpit except for a now-politically incorrect female figure with a bear paw print). Though it carries no special CAG markings, this Hawkeye displays the full obsolete c/s.

Grumman E-2C Hawkeye (G-123)
Marietta - Dobbins ARB (Atlanta NAS) (MGE / KMGE)
USA - Georgia, February 4, 1990
Remark
Photographer
161547 / AB-600 A Hawkeye from VAW-123 Screwtops (Norfolk, VA) poses on the NAS Atlanta t-line on what appears to be a pleasant winter afternoon (it was actually windy and bitter cold!). This is the squadron CAG bird and though it carries no special markings that would normally distinguish it, there is a feature that does set it apart: The fixed vertical stabilizer and the two-segment rudder were each taken from a different aircraft! This is evident in the jumbled portions of three sets of numbers which should read 1547!
