G-ALDA (cn HP.81/2) Air Safaris operated three Hermes aircraft during the summer of 1961, with one based at Newcastle to operate a number of weekly flights to Spanish holiday resorts and Italy. Only two of the Hermes appeared in the company livery, with the other retaining Skyways colours minus titles. |

G-ALDG (cn 08) Captured immediately after her restoration including a complete repaint - the world's only surviving Hermes looks gorgeous in her pristine BOAC livery. The Hermes was the first purpose-built pressurised airliner built in Britain after the end of World War Two. Built in 1950 and nicknamed 'Horsa' this Hermes operated from London to West and South Africa from 1950 to 1953. The restoration is superb, with every panel and rivet now pristine. Soon to be moved inside AirSpace, so get your photos quick! |

G-ALDG (cn 08) "Horsa". This fuselage is all that survives of all the 25 Hermes airliners built. The Hermes, developed from the Hastings military transport, was the first purpose built, pressurised, airliner built in Britain after World War 2. The Hermes was used by BOAC on its route to West and South Africa from 1950 to 1953. |

G-ALDG (cn 08) This fuselage is the only surviving remnant of the 25 Hermes IV’s built. Delivered in 1950, 'Horsa' operated with BOAC, Airwork and Silver City until 1962 when she was retired to British United for cabin training, and was later used for smoke evacuation training at LGW. The fuselage arrived at Duxford in 1981 and has been gradually restored. |
