153169 (cn A-078) The A-7A Corsair II was the first production version. Its development was really short : it began in 1965, one year later the Corsair entered in service with the US-Navy. Less than 200 A-7A were built. In the background, the huge fuselage of the "Spirit of Santa Barbara", the sole B-377 MG Mini Guppy, seen here few days after its first flight. This aircraft is preserved at the Tillamook Naval Air Station Museum in Oregon. |

153140 / NL-405 (cn A-049) A Vought A-7A Corsair II, operated by VA-86, aboard the Vietnam War era Aircraft Carrier USS Coral Sea (CVA-43, San Francisco's Own), during her 1970 visit to Garden Island Dockyard in Sydney. The folded wings make the aircraft more compact on deck (and in the hangar below). A 'Rattlesnake' logo is on the fin. Other Corsair IIs are on the flight-deck in the background. |

152650 / AC-401 (cn A-007) This is the first A-7 to catapult and arrest on any aircraft carrier. It was once the gate guard at NAS Cecil Field in Jacksonville, before being moved here to the Don Garlits drag racing museum. |
