54-0177 (cn 4196) Magnificent machine respledent to her former West Virginia ANG glory. First delivered to the MATS Division at Charleston AFB as “City of Prestwick” in March 1956, she later served Mississippi ANG, WV ANG and lastly Pennsylvania ANG. Flown to Van Nuys as N1104W in 8.81, Classic Air intended to use her to fly Japanese tourists to the Grand Canyon but the aircraft remained inactive till taken by NASM in 1988, restoration not being completed till 2007 |

VH-EAG (cn 4176) Avalon International Air Show 2013. Here the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society's (HARS) Lockheed Super Constellation performs a low pass over the spectators at the show around 3pm. This particular shot was taken from the western side of the airfield. The location one of the privileges of acquiring a media pass for the event and arriving very early for the access list. It was a great experience and a first for me. |

HI-548CT (cn 4202) This nice Connie was delivered to the USAF in 1956 as 54-0183 and was written off while in storage at Santo Domingo on Sept. 22, 1998, when a C-46 Commando collided into it during Hurricane Georges. |

VH-EAG (cn 4176) Avalon International Air Show, 2011 - Upon providing a small donation to the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society the public were able to enter the Lockheed Super Constellation, "Connie" with QANTAS airline markings. I took this photo of the business end of the aircraft restored to virtually original condition with some modern addatives. The Friday night alive show, saw this majestic bird perform several fly overs with the flames bellowing from the exhausts of the big radials. |
