BG583 / G (cn 4686) The only time I got to see an Indian Connie... but I'm not complaining, what a fine sight! First delivered to Air India as VT-DJW "Rani of Bijapur" in 7.58; passed to the Air Force in 4.62 after freighter conversion. The Indian military was forced to retire its Constellations when Air India would no longer perform maintenance on them due to lack of spares; BG579 made the final flight on 31.3.84. BG583 was wfu at Pune in 1983 and apparently moved to Agra for storage for the IAF Museum – does she survive?

D-ALIN (cn 1049G-4604) This aircraft was one of the main reasons of my visit to Hermeskeil. She was delivered to LH in March '55 and was retired after only 12 years on 10/07/1967. As you can see the weather was just perfect on the day of our visit.

D-ALIN (cn 1049G-4604) I had a super time at the Hermeskeil museum. The sun was warm, the planes were super and the view of the countryside from the hill was impressive. Just to walk around and under these these old planes taking lots of detail shots made for a thoroughly worthwhile trip.

CF-TGE (cn 4544) After two years of restoration by the guys at Empire Aero Center, this classic airliner looks like she's ready to take on passengers. Arriving at EAC by truck in June 2007 in near derelict condtion, she has undergone a remarkable transformation. Kudo's to the folks at the Museum of Flight and EAC for saving the old girl from the scrapman!
