N5403V (cn 4844) This was one of the first Constellations that I saw. There are at this time two other photos of it on AN. TWA markings before this one, and another where it has been put to pasture still with Capitol paintwork. |

N174W (cn 4636) A very special Connie and a rare photograph. This is a composite of two aircraft. The fuselage is from YC-121F, 53-8158, one of two T34 turbine-powered prototypes of the C-121, while the wings, tail and engines are from L-1049G, YV-C-AME. Flying Tigers made two of these composite freighters in the same way, the other being N173W. 174 was used by FT from 1963 to 1966 and then sold to North Slope Aviation Company of Alaska along with 173. 174 was written off on May 5, 1970. |
