151444 (cn 452) This active-duty strategically mobile Military Airfield is the Vietnam War Era Aircraft Carrier USS CORAL SEA (CVA-43, San Francisco's Own), photographed during her 1970 R&R visit to Garden Island Dockyard, Sydney. Three F-4B Phantoms of VF-151 are visible (incl. 152252, 153034) as well as an A-7 Corsair II . Deja Vu 37 years later - This week (5-10July2007) this berth is occupied by USS KITTY HAWK (CVA-63) on her last visit to Sydney before de-commissioning. |

152252 / 2252 (cn 930) This active duty Vietnam War era US Navy Aircraft Carrier is the USS CORAL SEA (CVA-43, San Francisco's Own), berthed at Garden Island Dockyard, during her 1970 R&R visit to Sydney. As well as some Corsair IIs, there are two identifiable F-4B Phantoms visible on the deck. They are 152252 and 151444 - operated by VF-151. Visitors are being moved to the flight deck on the ship's aircraft lift. |
