Hungary - Air Force
Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-23MF
Kecskemet (LHKE)
Hungary, August 2, 2013
Remark
Photographer
10 (cn 0390217171/12409) In 12.96 the MiG-23MF (Flogger-B) was withdrawn from use by the Hungarian AF. Although a good interceptor it was costly to operate and utilisation was poor, the MiG-29 being more capable. Most had less than 100 flying hours remaining before they needed expensive overhaul. India did show some interest in acquiring nine remaining MiG-23MF’s and two MiG-23UB’s at that time but did not proceed
