C5-GAB (cn 2024) Two transports of delight - this smart YS-11, acquired from ANA (JA8660) in 4.92, seen here on a maintenance visit, and my beloved Golf GTi Mk II. C5-GAB is still intact at Banjul, stored in very dusty condition; as for E967JAJ, I don't know |

PJ-WIK (cn 2025) Former WinAir YS-11 was stripped of useful spares at SXM and put on a barge for the short trip to Philipsburg where she is now part of a restaurant. Two sandwiches and two Heineken beers for $10...the cheapest meal of the week! |

9U-BHP (cn 2165) The only way I could get an angle on this interesting subject was by precariously balancing on the pitched roof of the security man's hut. D/d Southwest Air Lines 7.71 JA8778; to 9Y-TJB 9.78; took up the Burundi reg shortly before this shot in the ex-Air Caribbean colours but burnt out 3.11.01, said to be because of a stray firework |

N924 (cn 2129) Imagine my amazement as I was driving along the Southend seafront one Saturday and saw a procession of four YS-11s land one after another, all the more surprising as I'd shot them nicely just two months before in Malta. The other three were ex-Piedmont and had their individual "Pacemaker" names suitably adapted. Although this one was previously Gabon Government’s TR-KIA, they still gave it a Piedmont-style name, "Suez Canal Pacemaker". The four were on delivery to PBA. N924 was b/u at Hyannis, MA 7.93 |

N274P (cn 2126) Unlike the Simmons YS-11 in American Eagle colours just uploaded, N274P operated in their own livery, with small Republic Express titles on the door. Like so many of the US registered examples, this one was originally part of a large Piedmont fleet and was acquired from PBA in 2.85, being sold to SA Litoral SA as XA-ROV in 8.89. Wfu at Greenwood, MS 4.91 and later b/u |

2143 (cn 2143) Olympic received 10 YS-11s in 1970/71 for inter-island and regional work. Six of them were transferred to the Hellenic AF for transport duties in 1981, all being camouflaged except this one (ex SX-BBI) which was used as a calibrator aircraft. Although the others have long since been withdrawn, 2143 is still active with the 356 MTM based at Elefsis |
