NZ4115 (cn SH1552) Stored at MOTAT 2, Museum of Transportation & Technology, Aviation Unit. My father was a flight engineer aboard this aircraft and others, bases at Lauthala Bay, Fiji, 1956-1961. She is in sad shape now, covered in fungi. There are plans to build an addition to the museum to put her under cover. |

ML796 Whilst the 'Superhangar' is being extended some of the occupants have had to move to other accomodation. The tail of the Sunderland has had to be removed in order for it to fit in this hangar. Shortly to be pushed inside the hangar on trolleys. (Sideways) |

ML824 / NS-Z The Sunderland was the last flying-boat operated by the RAF. It was produced as a military development of the civilian ‘C’ Class Empire flying-boat operated by Imperial Airways. The design was so good that it remained in front line service for over twenty years. This example was donated by the French Navy in 1961 and is painted in the famous 201 sqn colours. |

ML824 / NS-Z The lower cockpit section in the nose of the Sunderland flying boat. The aircraft was moored by aircrew standing in the forward part of this section (as shown by the mannequin here). This section provided access to the front gun turret and also featured two lateral-firing 0.5 inch Browning machine guns, still fitted to this aircraft and clearly seen in the foreground. |
