19503 (cn 1009) After being retired from service on December 2006, the PoAF recently returned 4 SA330S-1 Puma to service, to cover for the maintenance problems that keep the EH101 Merlin fleet from being fully operational. At least, in the next 2 years we expect to see 19503, 19504, 19505 and 19509 based at Lajes to perform Airevac, SAR and transport duties around the Azores. Here we can see four arriving back at Lajes after a long transatlantic flight ever performed by a formation of four Puma helicopters! |
