Supermarine 356 Spitfire F24
Duxford (EGSU)
UK - England, November 22, 2006
Remark
Photographer
VN485 (cn SMAF.21567) One of only three Mk24 Spitfires surviving today, this fine example really exemplifies the sleek lines of a late-model Spitfire. Note the bulged cylinder-head covers - only evident on Rolls-Royce Griffon powered Spitfires. This example served with the Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary AF and was displayed with them at Kai Tak from 1955 to 1989. Now preserved at the Imperial War Museum Duxford.
