Untitled
Supermarine Seagull V (Walrus)
Moorabbin (MBW / YMMB)
Australia - Victoria, September 28, 1964
Remark
Photographer
VH-ALB (cn A2-4) Photo 1. This very rare Seagull V (Walrus) was originally delivered to the RAAF as A2-4 (one of 24 Seagull Vs for Australia). In 1964 she was taking Joyflights at Moorabbin. I had spent 2 Pounds for my first flight (in a Cessna 172), and didn't have 5 pounds for a flight in the Walrus (which included a water landing on Port Phillip Bay)! Later, VH-ALB was damaged on a flight to England. After repairs, she was put on display at the RAF Museum Hendon (as RAAF Seagull V A2-4). Low Res photo.
