144427 Single-engine, supersonic, carrier-based air superiority jet aircraft. Nicknamed, the "Last of the Gunfighter". The Crusader first went to sea on the USS Forrestal in 1957. Played a crucial role in the Cuban Missile Crisis, providing essential low-level photographs. The last of the Crusaders left navy service in 1987. Pima Air and Space Museum.

143703 / NL-412 Whilst visiting SFO, I heard about the USS Hornet Museum. On the flight deck of this old lady of the seas was this Vought Crusader in pristine condition. I thought I'd accentuate its lines by lying on the deck and shoot upwards, giving it a more sleek look. If you're in San Francisco, I'd recommend a visit to this museum, there are many aircraft and the below deck tours are equally as interesting.
