XT257 (cn WA241) [Canon EOS 300D]. Seen prior to being fully re-assembled at the new Bournemouth Aviation Museum site. The museum opened again (and the Wessex now has its rotors again) on 24th October 2008. |

XP138 / PO-654 (cn WA71) Of 737 Naval Air Squadron. Not the best of photographs as this image was shot in very poor light on Kodachrome 25 with the resultant slow shutter speed. Seen here being lifted from the ocean by the salvage vessel HMS Kinbrace following it's crash on 15.7.74 while on approach to RNAS Portland. |

XT257 (cn WA241) The sun sets over Bournemouth Aviation Museum on a cold winters evening; ironic as it closes its doors for the very last time today. Forced out of its site by Manchester Airport Group for car park expansion, the museum is forced to shut down taking with it the futures of its entire collection of fascinating historic aircraft. Dedicated to all the museum volunteers for your hard work and dedication over the years; thank you. [Bournemouth Aviation Museum; 1998-2007] |

XP142 (cn WA75) Perhaps the most famous aircraft to have taken part in the Falklands conflict. This Wessex was nicknamed "Humphrey" and attacked the Argentine submarine Santa Fe. |

XT257 (cn WA241) A pre-production HAS3 version of the ubiquitous Wessex helicopter which never saw active Royal Navy service. She spent her flying days as a development airframe with Westland then A&AEE at Boscombe Down. Acquired by the Bournemouth Aviation Museum in January 2005. |

XT257 (cn WA241) Built as a pre-production HAS.3, this Wessex stayed with Westland for development flying rather than delivery to the Royal Navy. Later flown by A&AEE at Boscombe Down, and an instructional airframe at Halton and Cosford. At some stage it acquired the yellow colour scheme of a RAF HAR.2 rescue variant - which it never was. Now preserved at the Bournemouth Aviation Museum. |

XM833 (cn WA14) Preserved at the Second World War Aircraft Preservation Society at Lasham. Rather unfortunate that this ex Portland helicopter is looking so tired and in desperate need of moving undercover. Still, all the details are picked up perfectly in this beautiful winter light. |
