VH-JPB (cn W-27) Built 1985, built by Maurice Harnett & his son, completed by John P Bird (hence registration). First registered & first flown on 1 Aug 1985 by John P Bird until sold in 1999. Still regd in 2010, now owned by Howard Jones. Steve Wittman, a US air racing pilot since the 1920s, designed a number of racing aircraft. The Tailwind first flew in 1953 & was his most popular design - the first two seat aircraft approved for amateur construction after World War Two.

VH-MGO (cn W28) "Little Puff". Built 1976, first flight 25.8.1976, first registered 11.11.76 to Geoff Oliver, as seen here. Later sold to Stephen J Palmer, York, WA. Cancelled 6.7.06 by Civil Aviation Safety Authority. Steve Wittman, a US air racing pilot since the 1920s, designed a number of racing aircraft. The Tailwind first flew in 1953 & was his most popular design - the first two seat aircraft approved for amateur construction after World War 2. Prior to that you could only build single seat aircraft in the USA.
