Remark
Photographer
191914 / 26 (cn 191914) This Komet was delivered to JG/400 in 1945 but captured intact at Husum and sent to the UK for testing. It was shipped to Montreal as a war prize in 1946 and subsequently placed into storage in a number of different locations. It underwent restoration by staff from the Canada Aviation & Space Museum during 2000-2001 and is now on display wearing JG/400 markings once again.

Germany - Air Force
Messerschmitt Bf-109F-4
Ottawa - Rockcliffe (YRO / CYRO)
Canada - Ontario, August 20, 2014
Remark
Photographer
10132 (cn 10132) This 109 was manufactured by Erla Maschinenwerk in 1942 and sent to the Eastern Front. In August of that year, the aircraft was damaged in combat forcing it to crash-land near the Arctic port of Murmansk. Eventually the plane was acquired by a British complany who restored it in these original markings, however, the original combat bullet holes were nor repaired and are still visible. Acquired through exchange in 1999 it is now on display at the Canada Aviation & Sapce Museum.

Photographer
1122 (cn 4445827) One of several Soviet-built types acquired by the Luftwaffe following the re-unification of Germany. This was probably one of the few occasions this aircraft left Germany, seen here during a NATO Defence Ministers Summit at nearby Gleneagles.

AEG G.IV
Ottawa - Rockcliffe (YRO / CYRO)
Canada - Ontario, September 20, 2014
Remark
Photographer
The AEG G.IV was a tactical bomber featuring an all metal, welded-tube frame, making it a rugged and strong aircraft but, although easy to fly, it was dogged by very short-range. This example was shipped to Canada as a war trophy in 1919 and is on display at the Canada Aviation Museum. It is significant as not only the single one of it's type extant but of any preserved German, twin-engined combat aircraft from WWI. Note, the engines installed are not original, the museum is actively seeking replacements.
