Angola - Air Force
Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-21bis
Swartkop (FASK)
South Africa, September 24, 2010
Remark
Photographer
C340 (cn N75096900) Posed here alongside a SAAF Mirage F1, a typical adversary from the wars fought by Angola since its independence in 1975, about 20 of the 100 or so Mig-21s delivered are thought still to be in service. Three are said to have fallen victimn to the Mirages, but one was credited with shooting down an SAAF C-130 in 1986 - which did not actually happen
