This still happens at Brisbane for Virgin Blue and QantasLink customers.) VH-ANF was delivered to Ansett on 22Jul1981, and was leased to East West Jan 92-Dec93. My first flight in an Ansett B727-277 was in VH-RMK, from CBR to MEL (0.8 hrs) on 17Apr85. An Ansett B737-277 is visible at rear. Low res 26 year old photo. |

VH-CZP (cn 22648/789) Rare view of Ansett's Boeing 737-277 VH-CZP at Sydney in 1982. Ansett later operated a B737-377 also Reg VH-CZP. The later Dash 300 aircraft had larger turbo-fan engines. I did a 0.5 hour flight in the this aircraft from SYD to CBR shortly after taking this photo. I had a good view of the deployed thrust reverser on landing at Canberra Airport. Low res 26 year old photo. |

VH-AND (cn 474) Rare 1973 view of Sir Reginald Ansett's Bell 206A helicopter VH-AND taking off from Melbourne's Yarra Bank Heliport, heading back to Tullamarine. I had just arrived after a 10 minute trip from MEL, which cost $7. (Compared to the $2 bus trip, that was great value, even in 1973 Dollars.) The Crown Casino complex now dominates the skyline where the 'Repco' and 'Coca Cola' signs appear. (Morley Ford then sold Falcon cars.) VH-AND is still flying in 2008! |

VH-AND (cn 474) Window View of Melbourne's Essendon Airport, taken from Sir Reginald Ansett's Bell 206A helicopter VH-AND, on a 10 minute hop from Tullamarine to Melbourne's Yarra Heliport in 1973. VH-AND was Sir Reginald's personal transport between his home at Mt Eliza and Melbourne. During the day, the aircraft was used to ferry passengers between Tullamarine and the Yarra Heliport. The fare was about $7, while the bus fare was $2. (A bargain, even with 1973 dollars.) VH-AND is still flying in 2008! Low res photo. |

Photo taken (of shaded panel) with engine running and rotors turning, just before the Pilot lifted off for a 10 minute hop to the Melbourne Yarra Bank Heliport, passing over Essendon Airport on the way. (This helo is still flying in 2008!) Low res photo. Apologies for low quality of this 35 year old photo. |

VH-AND (cn 474) View of Sir Reginald Ansett's Bell 206A helicopter at Tullamarine in 1973, before I joined the Pilot for a 10 minute hop to Melbourne. Sir Reginald travelled from Mt Eliza to Melbourne's Yarra Heliport each day in this helicopter. He was not given permission to land on the top of the Ansett Building in Franklin Street. During the day, the aircraft was used to ferry passengers between Tullamarine and the Yarra Heliport. This helo is still flying in NSW in 2008! Low res photo. |
