VH-TXH (cn 20549/989) Isn't there something missing? After 34 years of faithful service, this old 727 has been put out for the scrappers, less engines, and she doesn't look too happy about it! Purchased new by Ansett in 1973; registered VH-RMV. 'Retiring' for the first time in '83, took up US registration N275WC. Served with Republic Airlines and Braniff, among others, and had a short spell on the Yugoslav register as YU-AKR in '90 before returning to the USA. Converted to a freighter in '95 and returned to Oz in '02. |

VH-VLF (cn 21695/1481) Purchased new by Ansett Airlines in 1979 and registered VH-RMN. Between 1987-92 operated by Ansett for Polynesian & Cook Islands Airlines. Returned to Ansett mainline service 1992 but transferred to subsidiary East-West Airlines later that year. Returned to Ansett 1993 & sold 1996. Converted in the USA to freighter, re-entered service as VH-AUP 1997 operated by Air Cargo Australia for Australian Air Express. Company changed hands & re-registered VH-VLF 2003. Retired 16 May 2007 & due for scrapping. |
