De Havilland (Canada) DH-82C Tiger Moth II
Hamilton (YHM / CYHM)
Canada - Ontario, September 15, 2014
Remark
Photographer
C-GCWT / 8922 (cn DHC1724) This is one of 1550 Tiger Moths built in Canada from a total of around 7800. The Canadian version was less nimble than the British version due to a jettisonable cockpit canopy, cockpit heating, wheel brakes, a tail wheel and a more powerful engine. However , these modifications were much more suitable for harsher Canadian conditions. This aircraft served with 12 EFTS, Goderich, ON and 4 EFTS, Windsor Mills, QC until 1945. After a long period of storage it was made airworthy again by the CWHM in 1977.

Avro 683 Lancaster B10
Off-Airport - Derwent Reservoir
UK - England, September 21, 2014
Remark
Photographer
C-GVRA / KB726/VR-A (cn FM 213) An iconic sight (and sound) as two Lancasters pass the Derwent Dam made so famous by 617 squadron, The Dambusters, during their work up for Operation Chastise in 1943. While a single Lancaster has passed the Dam on the anniversary of the Dambusters raids in recent times, the 21st Sept 2014 saw two Lancasters pass the dam. Thumper, from the BBMF, and VERA from the CWHM perform a formation flypast with hundreds of onlookers admiring what may well be a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Avro 683 Lancaster B10
Off-Airport - Southport
UK - England, September 21, 2014
Remark
Photographer
C-GVRA / KB726/VR-A (cn FM 213) A unique and wonderful sight, as the two remaining airworthy Lancasters bank left after flying down the crowd line at Southport. KB726, from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, flies behind the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight's PA474. Both Lancasters were built in 1945. This was the last formation display flight for the duo before VR-A returns to Canada. My thanks to Michael Brazier for greatly valued support.
