N7011M / 767 (cn 61216) This helicopter was always a civil machine. Initially registered N653X for test-flying, it was delivered new to Pakistan International Airlines as AP-AOB in 1963. In 1968 it was sold to BEA Helicopters in the UK and registered G-AWFX. It later returned to the USA where it was converted to 'Fire King' standard. |

N7011M / 767 (cn 61216) The Fire King approaching to refill its water tanks while fighting a local bush fire. Behind the fence was a little pond which it dropped its snorkel into. Drew quite a crowd from the local suburbs. |

N7011M / 767 (cn 61216) The Fire King refilling its water tanks during fire bombing operations south of Perth. The smoke from the blaze which was just over a kilometer away is in the background. The water drops and the entire circuit could be seen from the park. A little later 2 Air Tractor waterbombers did a dump just behind the houses in the background. The crews were superb in their abilities. |
