N4249 / A (cn 11547) Standing fire watch while "FIFI" No.1 engine is just starting. "FIFI" had just returned from filming the made for TV movie "ENOLA GAY" starring Patrick Duffy. You can still faintly see where the words "ENOLA GAY" were painted on a slant just next to the repainted word "FIFI". Became N529B in Aug 1981.

N227GB / 27 (cn 33345) Manufactured in 1945 as 44-77013, it went to the US Navy as an R4D-7. In 1966 it went to the FAA, and then to the US Dept. of Agriculture in August 1976 as N32A. In December 1976 it became N227GB and went to the GSA. In 1980 it went from the GSA to the CAF. It is shown here just after its transfer to the CAF. It is now with the Great Lakes Squadron as the "Black Sparrow".
