Bayu Indonesia Air
Douglas DC-6A
Jakarta - Kemayoran (JKT / WIID) (closed)
Indonesia, December 1983
Remark
Photographer
PK-BAX (cn 45458/986) Still in the basic colours of former operator SF Air with whom she operated as F-BYCG, this fine old machine was once KY-1 of the Belgian AF, coded 'OT-CDA'. Wfu mid-1980s. By 1994 in use at Bogor as a restaurant on poles but later derelict by Jakarta-Bandung roadside. Seen 1999 on hillside in nearby Pancuk Pass, in Konica Film colours and back to restaurant use by 2003, suspended by tree trunks, but apparently by then too unsafe to eat inside – instead you sat under it!
