3-4541 (cn 29001) Iran Army Aviation used two versions of Sea Cobra in order to prevent massive initial attack of Iraqis heavy armor toward Iran in 1980. Cobra's knockout them using TOW wire-guided missiles and also mavericks. (That indigenous project enabled none—Tow Cobra's to fire this lethal missile.) After 45,000 hours combat flight, Cobras scored 960 tanks, 700 armor machines, hundreds tents and several boat destructions. Also five helicopters kill in air combat. Add to this list one MiG-21 kill using 20mm gun! |
