N231H (cn BA-281) Running the engines under the night sky, this Kamaka Air Beech 18 proudly stands with its nose high. What a cool aircraft! Note Tripler Hospital behind with their Christmas lights! Just in time for the season. |

N9796N (cn 43375) This shot goes to all the guys at Kamaka Air, and the Kamaka maintenance department. Thanks for the great times! N9796N, one of the remaining Super-3s, rests on the South Ramp as the strong winds blow clouds above. You can see a fleet of other classic planes behind, including a Beech 18 and another C-47. |

N9796N (cn 43375) Bursts of orange and yellow light fill the darkening sky, while this well kept Kamaka Air Super DC-3 rests on the South Ramp after a long day of work. What a beauty! |

N9796N (cn 43375) Sitting on the South Ramp as peaceful as ever as the nice moonlit clouds get blown across the island by the strong tradewinds. What caught my eye in the photo was how clear the constellation Orion came out, you can clearly see his belt (three stars lined up). |

N9796N (cn 43375) One of my last shots of the year 2005. When night rolls around, things become quiet and peaceful at HNL, and this Kamaka Air Super DC-3 is seen resting quietly on the South Ramp, silhouetted against a nice orange glow from the main terminal. From a bug's eye view, the heatwaves in the distance leave a nice reflection of light on the dark tarmac. That streak of light under the wing is from an arriving NW B753. Has to be one of my favorites! |

N231H (cn BA-281) A classic Kamaka Air bird is currently being painted into a movie livery which will be filmed at HDH for the movie "Lost" a few days later. This episode will feature N231H before it "crashed" into the trees, where fighting would take place. The sensitive parts of the plane are all wrapped up as a man sprays the final coat of protective liquid to prevent the elements from washing the paint away. |

N231H (cn BA-281) Towed out of the hangar as the sun set minutes ago, after being painted into a special livery for the movie "Lost". This temporary paint scheme is sure an eye catcher! The livery was washed off a week after this photo was taken, after her shoot at HDH. |

N9796N (cn 43375) The wings were restored and attached. Mechanics are working on the port side Wright 1820-80 powerplant. Will be ready to fly in a couple of weeks. This is 1 of 8 R4D-8s left that are airworthy. Can't wait to see this bird grace the Hawaiian skies. |
