Photo ID: 0258972 Views: 8468 Aircraft Location & Date USA - Air Force/Army Avro Canada VZ-9 Avrocar Off-Airport - Montreal Canada - Quebec, 1967 Remark Photographer 58-7055 / AV-7055 In the late 50’s, Avro of Canada got a contract with the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army to develop the Avrocar. Which was found unsatisfactory for forward flight but a somewhat suitable VTOL craft for near ground operation. AV-7055 was on display at a “Theme Pavilion” during Expo ’67 in Montreal.
