N709RR (cn 20245) The "Jailbird" spending its days on the ramp at Wendover. This is not the real N709RR (cn 20158), but a stand-in aircraft (ex 56-4361), painted as N709RR. On the left in the background is the Atomic mission hangar 1831. Often referred to as the Enola Gay hangar, it was built specifically to house the "new" B-29's of the 393rd Bombardment Squadron. |

N709RR (cn 20245) Nose detail of the "Jailbird". Used in the filming of "Con Air", this aircraft now sits quietly on the ramp drawing the occasional visitor out for a look. It's not the real N709RR (cn 20158), but a stand-in aircraft (ex 56-4361). |

N709RR (cn 20245) A view of the "Jailbird's" cockpit, or more appropriately what's left of it. Obvious modifications made to facilitate ground handling during filming of the movie "Con Air". This is not the real N709RR, but a stand-in (ex 56-4361). |

N709RR (cn 20245) Didn't know I would find a movie star in Wendover. This plane was used for the movie "Con Air". It's named "Jailbird", and eventhough it's painted as N709RR, it's not the real one! This one is ex USAF 56-4361. |
