It was developed from the B-24 Liberator as a maritime patrol bomber and had six gun turrets - note the deleted rear fuselage blisters in this view. N3739G was originally the USN's Bu no. 59819 and this identity is now quoted as the aircraft's msn. Retired as a fire bomber in 1991 and to the Lone Star Museum, Galveston, TX; now near the end of a full restoration to original military condition Richard Vandervord Contact Link to me! The aircraft has been converted for use as a fire bomber (Tanker 33), carrying 3000 gallons of flame retardant in the belly tank. The owner decided to repaint it in the classic Delta livery except the airline wasn't too happy with that - so after some negotiation the Delta titles had to go but the colors and crown tail logo could stay.
