N382AN / 382 (cn 25451/498) During the attacks many planes were diverted and we got 13.. Here is a few of them all parked together. an AA777, UA777, Alitalia Md11 and a few more 777s cut off from this picture..YYC is also one of the few airports that has hay stacks sitting in the field near the taxiways and the planes.. Now THAT is a true Western Airport. |

The Calgary Air Traffic Control Tower built in 1977 stands 90m tall. The real Calgary Tower in the distance was built in 1965 and stands 190m tall. Today the downtown skyline is frequently changing with new buildings. It is already one of the largest downtown centres in N.America; if not, perhaps the biggest in the country. |

Overview of Heathrow around midday, taken from Easyjet 737 G-IGOX en-route back into STN - I couldn't believe my luck that I got such clear skies below! See if you can spot Concorde! Note how few aircraft there are around T1 in comparison to T3/T4, and how few runway activities there are - a 747 has just vacated 27R and there are some "heavies" taxying to 27L from the south side only. 82-8000 (cn 23824/679) President George W. Bush making his premier visit to Calgary for the G8 summit in the Kananaskis Country. Because of Airforce One's arrival, the airport was shut down completely and the runway lights were turned on to accomodate its landing. A few minutes earlier ground crews were sweeping up the entire runway removing things like dirt, gravel, gopher carcasses, and other debris. |

9M-MPD (cn 25701/997) Wow, I was lucky to get this one! While taking a shot of a SQ74 just south of this location, an LAPD motorcycle officer stopped to see what I was doing. As we talked, I spotted "Hibiscus" on downwind. Boy did I get excited! I told the officer how rare it was for this plane to visit LAX and I would love to get a shot of it. Luckily I made it back to this location with one minute to spare. So here she is, crossing Sepulveda Blvd. with the In-N-Out and small park just across the street in the background. |
