VH-UXL (cn 9766) This beautiful, magnificent and historic beast has recently emerged from restoration to fly again. Powered by a Lycoming R-680 of 245 hp, she was imported by Vacuum Oil (later Mobil, as you can see under the wings) and registered on 13 Oct 1936. Used as a utility aircraft until sold in 1939. Impressed by RAAF 1941 as A38-1. Demobbed and sold 1948. Several owners until re-registered VH-KAF 1957. Ended up in Drage Airworld museum at Wangaratta & sold to present owner several years ago when museum collapsed. |
