ZK-*** What a treat! On approach to Queenstown (ZQN) from Auckland (AKL) and flying low over the same snowboarding area, Cardrona, where I would be photographing New Zealand's first offical WorldCup Snowboarding contest a week later. Yes, that road to the mountaintop is as scary as it looks. |

N777AN / 7AH (cn 29585/218) How does a passenger describe the departure city weather on a day like this? "Ahh, well, uhhh, it was dry when we left the gate, pouring rain as we began our takeoff roll and then sunny as we rotated from the runway". Yea, that just about covers it. A8-*** RAAF F-111 performs a spectacular high level pass dump & burn over Brisbane City, amazing how much diffused light is produced from the flame to create an almost eerie glow over the city skyline. |

PH-BFG / FG-003 (cn 24517/782) Well I don’t think this really needs a comment. It speaks for itself. Truly SXM trademark at its best. If he were much lower he would have gotten the fence and these guys’ heads. Not very often you see grown men ducking down there. What an awesome weekend this was. Thanks guys! |

A6-EBX (cn 32729/619) The view from the Airport Hotel's roof terrace. Most of the departing traffic will pass you to enter the runway here and as can be seen from the onlookers in the beer garden, it's a pretty close call when something as large as the 777 taxies by! A good pint and some Jet A1 please, barman! |

N5016R (cn 32431/429) This is what happens when 500,000 pounds of aircraft meets the runway, and not all at once. There are some interesting effects around the landing gear. This airframe is the second 777-300ER built. |
