C-GCPP / 711 (cn 22255/666) Empress 101 is operating the morning LAX-YYV service, normally operated by a 727 or DC-8. That was a very nice paint scheme. Note the aircraft of the day at LAX. Sold as PR-MTG to TAF Linhas Aereas. There's a Pan Am 747 under tow on taxiway Echo and of course the American Airlines DC-10-10 turning onto taxiway Echo. |

N734PA (cn 19641/7) Clipper Flying Cloud, later Clipper Champion of the Seas. First flown on 10/31/1969, Pan Am brought this 747, line number 7, to LAX in November 1969 for it's debut showing and public display. I believe this was the very first time a 747 was at LAX. The photograph was taken on the Imperial Terminal ramp. 734PA flew for Pan Am until the airline ceased operations in 1991. Later with UPS as N691UP, the airplane has now been scrapped. |
