Normal for the airbus to produce this effect due to our sub -30.C climate at present. Departing to Cancun, Mexico. |

9M-MRD (cn 28411/84) Man o man, nailed her!! Got myself soaking wet again for this one, but it was definitely well worth it! Difficult light conditions and all the rain coming down made this one quite hard to get. Details are there, though, just check out the main gear and all the water that gets blown around it. I just now noticed that the Malaysia decal is again shown on the outer side of the engine, while the "RR" sign is on the inside. |

N509UA (cn 24763/284) With LH 744 D-ABVE. The two planes appear to be touching! The 757 is on final for 28L while the 747 is for 28R. The runways are 750 ft apart, so there is still plenty of room between them. Incidentally, Lufthansa 455 is seen here returning to SFO due to an oil leak and eventual shutdown of the number 2 engine. Note rudder is deflected to the right compensating for the failed engine on the left side. |

DQ-FJL (cn 24062/722) Air Pacific's (Fiji) multi colored scheme looks great against the winter skies of Southern California. In fact, the blue lagoon depicted on the body of the 74 looks about the same color blue as the sky. In addition, to put the icing on the cake (so to speak) a few wispy clouds passed by at just the right moment. That's why winter time here at LAX is my favorite time of the year for shooting. As they say... A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words... and that couldn't be truer. |

I could not resist running back to the beach when I saw her overflying the terminal while I was busy with the check-in. No idea if I would make it... 8' running from inside the terminal to the beach... Making this classic SXM shot and running another 8' back, boarding and underway to another destination... Sometimes last minute decisions and risks are rewarding... |

HB-JMH (cn 585) Awesome crosswind landing going on here - nonstop from Tokyo - in front of an amazing scenery! There seems to be no way this plane is ever gona stop on this short little runway...runway 14 is 3.3km long of course. It had rained all night what resulted in superb visibility: The mountains in the back are 50km and futher away! I was standing about 2km from the point of touchdown...considering that it came out quite good. A big thanks again goes out to Paul Markman for the editing! |
