Remark

HB-IQH (cn 288) That's why I love a long lens! Too far away and too fast for your own eyes, you'd never be able to see this: The tire that's already made contact with terra firma is spinning like mad while on the front one you can clearly read the tire brand, it's amazing! Check it out, you'll like it I'm sure!

Remark
Photographer
CS-TMR (cn 293B-1241) Former SE-DVF Del 0300 Operated by Luzair) Giving some interesting details on the ravaged left main-gear. A closer look on the aft right wheel and the hole in the aft. left wheel tells us the anti-skid system might not have worked during the RTO.

Remark
Photographer
N5016R (cn 32431/429) This is what happens when 500,000 pounds of aircraft meets the runway, and not all at once. There are some interesting effects around the landing gear. This airframe is the second 777-300ER built.

Remark
Photographer
G-BNLC (cn 23910/734) Not an optical illusion! - the gear IS off the ground. The aircraft is placed on stands and the floor is lowered beneath it to allow the gear to be raised and lowered. Taken at the 10th anniversary Open Day at BAMC. Sony F717.

Ilyushin Il-76MD
Kindu (KND / FZOA)
Congo (Kinshasa), August 22, 2003
Remark
Photographer
UR-UCH (cn 0083484536) Often when the big Il-76 landed on the 2000m rwy, the brakes became overheated. The Swedish CRFF-team (crash, rescue and firefighting) often had to cool down the brakes with water.

South Africa - Air Force
Boeing 707-328C(KC)
Kindu (KND / FZOA)
Congo (Kinshasa), June 17, 2003
Remark
Photographer
1419 (cn 19917/763) This 707 got a flat tire when landing on Rwy 18 at Kindu international airport. The crew taxied to the apron and pulled out the small black and yellow ramp to park on. They didn't have any nitrogen in the spare tire, so they had to use compressed air instead.

Remark

B-18208 (cn 29031/1186) That's a wet runway allright, the tires are working hard to process the water. The engine's all fogged up too.
