D-ABVH (cn 25045/845) An extremely rare event caught on camera. Just by chance I was at the airport that day to drop my father off for his flight to FRA. Winds were strong, blowing from the West at about 25kts. Pilots were flying approaches to Runway 1R and then crossing over to 30 for landing, as this LH jumbo is seen doing, passing in front of the new tower during his bank. I'm glad I brought my camera along! |

OV-103 (cn OV-103) As the weather seemed to be quite unstable at Kennedy Space Center, I almost thought that the mission control team would send Discovery to California. But, surprisingly enough, they decided to land her at KSC, and here she comes! Welcome back Discovery!! CDR Mark Polansky and PLT William Oefelein smoothly bring the vehicle back to the 15000ft runway 15 for landing at sunset (5:32pm EST). Congratulation for the entire NASA team for the successful STS-116 mission (204 orbits, traveling 5.3 million miles). |

N395FE (cn 46629/208) Approaching Las Vegas McCarran in an unbelievable beautiful evening sunshine. "Boeing MD-10" is the designation given to modified DC-10s that incorporate the Boeing Advanced Common Flight deck (ACF), which accommodates a two-person crew. The MD-10 flight deck is similar to the MD-11, allowing the crews to fly the two airplanes interchangeably. |

JA717A (cn 33415/580) The very rare & famous rnwy 01 circle to land approach over Millbrae Hills. Flight #8 from Tokyo, Japan (RJAA) coming out of an unusually low & sharp bank ( a la mini Kai Tak!) as it flies over Millbrae Hill roof & treetops! Other heavies before and after this plane were well above the hills at this particular point! |

SE-YUS (cn CAH-016) It is really recommended to stay on the extended centerline during approach, don't you think? Those trees don't look inviting to a pilot. |
