VH-EBA (cn 20009/147) Qantas Airways First Boeing 747-238B, VH-EBA, in original livery (with the 'Winged Flying Kangaroo' on the tail), at Sydney Airport in early 1983. She is being towed past a Qantas Airways Jet Base hangar. The aircraft carries a 1982 Commonwealth Games Logo, and text: 'Official Carrier - XII Commonwealth Games Brisbane 1982', on the rear fuselage. Qantas' First Boeing 707-138B, also VH-EBA and Named 'City of Canberra', did Circuit training at Canberra Airport on 07Jun2007, before going to Longreach QLD.

VH-EBN (cn 18808/404) A Qantas Boeing 707-338C takes off from Tullamarine in early 1974. I flew in this aircraft from Hong Kong to Manila (1.5 hrs) and overnight Manila to Sydney (7.5 hrs) on 10/11Feb1974 - My First Flights with Qantas. The airline later operated a Boeing 747-238B also registered VH-EBN. Rare Low-Res photo.

VH-ABR (cn 2029) The third DC-3 to be imported into Australia, this historic aircraft was purchased by Australian National Airways for 32,000 pounds and first registered on 31 October 1938. After a wartime spell as A30-3, it was badly damaged in a forced landing following an engine fire on 4 Oct 1948. Taken over in 1957 by Ansett-ANA. To Airlines of South Australia in 1961 & 'retired' on 13 March 1971 with 67,224 hours. And that's only her first 33 years!

ZK-NZE (cn 45985/336) An overview of the then new Sydney International Airport apron in October 1970 (terminal opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 03May1970). As well as ANZ DC-8 ZK-NZE (foreground), there are Pan Am and Qantas B707s, and KLM DC-8-55 PH-DCV present. The Boeing 747 is N741PA, the second 747 to visit Sydney. Pan Am's N734PA was the first, arriving at night on 04Oct1970, 9.5 hours late. This photo was taken a few days later, when the second 'Jumbo Jet' arrived on time.
