G-AMWC (cn 13128) Silver City's B170 Mk32s carried up to three cars and fourteen passengers plus a flight attendant. Lydd (then also known as Ferryfield) was purpose built for the airline. The main destination was Le Touquet. Flights also operated to Ostend, Calais and (in the summer) Deauville. During July and August in the early 1960s there were up to 120 air-ferry movements daily. Silver City Airways became part of British United Airways (BUA) in January 1963 and was renamed British United Air Ferries (BUAF). |

9Q-CCW (cn 263) Since Walikale is nothing more than a road without a platform, planes have to land, (un)load and leave immediately again, otherwise they block the strip. Here it is clearly visible that Walikale is actually a road. When there is no plane on the strip regular car traffic uses the road. |

RA-82077 (cn 9773054459151) Loading GP7200 - the very first Airbus A380 prototype engine developed by common efforts of GE and P&W. It will be mounted on a Boeing 747 testbed in Victorville, CA. It is so huge that it's dwarfing D-18T Progress engines of the Russian giant! |
