San Diego - International / Lindbergh Field (SAN / KSAN)
USA - California, September 21, 2004
Remark
Photographer
Wide angle view of the airport as we turn short final Rwy 27. Freight and GA on the right, terminal in the centre top. Notice the well displaced threshold on this runway due to hills and buildings on the approach.

Washington - Ronald Reagan National (DCA / KDCA)
USA - Virginia, February 5, 2005
Remark
Photographer
River Visual runway 1. Past the airport on the other side of the Potomac River is prohibited airspace P-56; the airport is very close. Departing and arriving aircraft on the north side of the airport stay over or west of the River to avoid that airspace. Left to right you can see the Lincoln Memorial, some Smithsonian buildings, the Jefferson Memorial, the White House, and the National Monument.

US Airways Express service always keeps DCA busy. "Air Shuttle" is rotating on Rwy 15. You can see the famous gravelly point park as well.

Chicago - Midway International (MDW / KMDW)
USA - Illinois, August 31, 2005
Remark
Photographer
Looking down the barrel of runway 4R with the Chicago skyline in the background. It's amazing to me that Chicago has kept Midway open and closed a truly useful business airport like Meigs Field. Even though on a clear day like this one getting in and out of Midway is not a problem, when weather hits this place makes my heart beat faster. After all, this place was built for DC-3's. Taken from a Delta B-737-832.
