USA - California, August 18, 2007
Remark
Photographer
51-13730 / S (cn 275) The B-36 on display at Castle Air Museum is one of only four B-36 aircraft remaining and the only reconnaissance version. It served with the 28th Strategic Reconnaissance Wing at Rapid City Air Force Base, South Dakota (Ellsworth AFB after June 1953) from 1952 to 1957. In 1957, it was sent to Chanute Air Force Base, Illinois. There it served as a ground instructional airframe and finally was part of Chanute's Air Museum. It was brought to Castle in 167 pieces, requiring 11 flatbed railway cars to move it.

62-0001 (cn 278-1) USAF Museum. First of only two built. This Mach 3+ strategic bomber looks like a prehistoric bird. The program was cancelled and the XB-70 made its last flight to the Museum in Feb 69.

Convair TB-58A Hustler
Peru - Grissom AFB (GUS / KGUS)
USA - Indiana, December 18, 2005
Remark
Photographer
55-0663 (cn 4) The unusual configuration of the B58, with its delta wing and four underslung jet pods, is well illustrated in this view. The first USAF supersonic operational bomber, B58s were a revolutionary aircraft because of its speed - set 19 world speed/altitude records and won five different aviation trophies, and its unique structure - made from a laminated Al/stainless steel/Al panel material. This B58 was built as a test aircraft to be converted into a trainer, which is the oldest example of the eight B58s.

N926NA (cn 119) HOLY CRAP! The pilot of this WB-57F said on the ATC, "Request Low Pass over the airpot" I jumped and ran like a little girl and this photo makes it look like we are in an airshow! Thanks for the crew for the fly by and I hope you have a sucessful mission in Costa Rica. [Canon EOS 350D Digital Rebel XT + Tamron 200-400mm LD f5.6]
