Remark
Photographer
ZK-OJA (cn 2085) NZ141 from Wellington landing on Rwy 25, showing off the wonderful "Lord of the Rings" colour scheme. I think this is my favourite of all the shots I've taken of it, with the wings out of the way, revealing the whole scheme.

Iberia
Airbus A320-...
In Flight
UK - England, December 1, 2001
Remark
Photographer
Heavy traffic at London Heathrow terminal area implies a few holdings at your Initial Approach Fix, in this case Ockham VOR. In The F/O Navigation display you can clearly see the shape of the hold. With the camera tilted 30º (same as airplane's bank angle) and this light conditions it is very dificult to hold the camara steady to get a sharp shot. This is my best try.

Iberia
Airbus A320-211
Barcelona (- El Prat) (BCN / LEBL)
Spain, April 18, 2005
Remark
Photographer
EC-GRI (cn 177) Touch down moment captured in a 0.8 sec. exposure. Canon EOS 20D ISO 800 and Sigma 15-30 EX DG. No tripod was used. Note the ground spoilers are deployed and you can guess the lowering the nose motion from the runway lights traces. Not an easy shot to take. Enjoy!!!

VH-*** An early evening light show seen from Sydney's 16L mound watching aircraft land on Rwy 34R. A QF 767 on finals, as a DJ 737 tracks right base. Certainly a spectacular sight.

NASA / DLR
Boeing 747SP-21
Mountain View - Moffett Federal Airfield (NAS) (NUQ / KNUQ)
USA - California, January 14, 2008
Remark
Photographer
N747NA (cn 21441/306) NASA's SOFIA (Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy), the world's largest airborne telescope, is seen here after it's first flight to Moffett Field where many of the components where designed. Viewed from the tower at 0359 Zulu Time, you can see the radar terminal station in the lower right displaying, from left to right, the Class 'D' airspaces' of PAO, NUQ and Class 'C' airspace of SJC. The green blurs are aircraft flying around the area; including one on final to SJC.

St. Maarten, July 2, 2006
Remark
Photographer
PH-BFG / FG-003 (cn 24517/782) KLM 785 from Amsterdam sends the fence huggers to their knees as it makes an extremely low pass over Maho Beach just before a very early touchdown on runway 09.

United Airlines
Boeing 757-222
San Francisco - International (SFO / KSFO)
USA - California, August 15, 2004
Remark
Photographer
N509UA (cn 24763/284) With LH 744 D-ABVE. The two planes appear to be touching! The 757 is on final for 28L while the 747 is for 28R. The runways are 750 ft apart, so there is still plenty of room between them. Incidentally, Lufthansa 455 is seen here returning to SFO due to an oil leak and eventual shutdown of the number 2 engine. Note rudder is deflected to the right compensating for the failed engine on the left side.
