Lockheed (Court Line)
Lockheed L-1011-385-1 TriStar 1
Manchester - International (Ringway) (MAN / EGCC)
UK - England, August 1972
Remark
Photographer
N305EA (cn 193A-1006) Part of this Lockheed demonstrator's world tour was a promotional flight for Court Line at Manchester prior to delivery to Eastern (23.11.72). She became N782DL with Delta in 1.92, was retired to Mojave in 11.96 and scrapped in 9.02. This is probably my most valuable TriStar slide and I was lucky to be there at the time

Lufthansa
Boeing 747-430
Mexico City (- Licenciado Benito Juarez International) (MEX / MMMX)
Mexico, September 2007
Remark
Photographer
D-ABVE (cn 24741/787) As earth keeps its translation movement, the sun heads back south for the winter period. By the orientation of the runways here in Mexico City, photography during the winter months becomes a bit harder, but there are indeed some great possible angles if you press down the shutter button at the right time. In this frame Lufthansa flight 498 from Frankfurt is arriving just 8 or 9 minutes before the sun hides in the horizon.

In Flight
Unknown, November 2, 2006
Remark
Photographer
PH-KCI / CI-009 (cn 48563/593) Enjoying a nice flight on board of this aparently freshly overhauled MD-11, a look out of the window made me at first a little frightened - then impressed, when I watched this Boeing 747-400 of Japan Air Lines passing by above. It happened somewhere near the US-Canadian border.

Remark
Photographer
CCCP-21142 / H-833 Unless a NATO reconnaissance aircraft photographed it over the Baltic, I believe I am the first in the "Free World" to see it!! It was the big surprise at the Paris Salon that year, but it was also a big surprise for me when it came to Copenhagen for re-fuelling a few days earlier. Note the airshow number H-833.

Ilyushin Il-86
Phuket (HKT / VTSP)
Thailand, January 10, 2006
Remark
Photographer
RA-86140 (cn 51483211102) No more runway left = Must rotate! Look at where the 1000 ft marker sign and where the plane is! One heart-stopping takeoff! The front gear of the plane actually got up before the '1' marker but the body remains heavy. I think the pilots know exactly where to rotate. The Ilyushin also kicked up a large sandstorm on the beach and it was barely above it after finally airborne. IL86 is such a beast! [Nikon D2x, High speed crop mode]

Remark
Photographer
N509UA (cn 24763/284) With LH 744 D-ABVE. The two planes appear to be touching! The 757 is on final for 28L while the 747 is for 28R. The runways are 750 ft apart, so there is still plenty of room between them. Incidentally, Lufthansa 455 is seen here returning to SFO due to an oil leak and eventual shutdown of the number 2 engine. Note rudder is deflected to the right compensating for the failed engine on the left side.

N330AA (cn 22330/166) 12:30:22. The day is hazy and hot. I was taking photos to the Air New Zealand's 747-400 ZK-SUJ, when in the background I saw a big explosion in the engine number 1. It was the American's 767 N330AA. At the time of the explosion, the aircraft engines were running while the plane was parked near to the AA hangar. [Canon 20D + Sigma 50-500]

Remark
Photographer
G-AOHT (cn 168) A busy pier on a dull day at MAN with five classic types and an excellent opportunity to compare the noses of the Caravelle and Comet. It is often mentioned that Sud-Est used the Comet nose when designing the SE.210. Indeed there was co-operation leading to the noses of the first two prototypes being direct copies and those thereafter very similar including cockpit layout.

B-18201 (cn 28709/1114) TCAS is ringing!? I am not quite sure; but, as I used 300 mm lens, I think it looks closer than real. I have no idea what the NCA pilots tried to achieve as they only departed from runway 7L to make a left turn heading for Japan which eventually encountered with China Airlines 747 departing from runway 32 (longest runway which all the heavies departed from on that day). Anyway, it was a nice opportunity for me to capture this scene with the morning orange hue.

Sweden, November 3, 2006
Remark
Photographer
9M-MRI (cn 28416/155) About 10 seconds after liftoff from runway 19R something happens with the left engine. Alot of smoke and fragments of metal and other material falls down on the runway. At first the pilots don't get any indications in the cockpit and plan to go on to Kuala Lumpur. Then we decide to call Arlanda duty officer to make sure that they have noticed the pieces from the engine on the runway. Shortly after that the pilots requests fueldump and return to ARN safely. N392AN / 392 (cn 29429/700) At 2300LT of July 20th 2007 the Amazonic ACC had an electrical collapse due human failure and ALL frequencies got down. The planes couldn´t enter at flight information region and those in flight must land immediately at the first airport available. SBEG received 3 flights on that night: one of TAM en route to MIA and two AA, a Triple Seven to MIA and this 767 to DFW. Both American planes departed only at 0530AM LT.
