ZK-NBW (cn 29375/1228) High over Northern Canada enroute to LHR from LAX, and with the moonlight illuminating our wing, I couldn't believe my eyes when I finally saw the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) for the first time. Thanks to Mark & the McCoy family for a wonderful holiday. |

HB-IQK (cn 299) This Swiss heavy departed Rwy 16 and made a 180 degree left turn while climbing. Right over the airport it broke thru the thin clouds which created a couple of interesting effects; shadow on the cloud, condensation from the wings and slipstreams from the wingtips. |

VP-CBX (cn 511) By now you all probably know that the approach into Samedan is an amazing one, but this Gulf just beats what I've seen so far. Thanks to quite some crosswind it seems like he is heading in my direction which results in the ability to get a beautiful head-on shot of this Bizjet. This is a full colour photo and not manipulated at all. The sun was directly in line with the airplane approaching, that's why this fuselage is shadowed too, and thanks to the bright snow from below the full plane is lit perfectly, while the scenery is severely underexposed. Dedicated to f/o James C. |

N649AS (cn 30663/1386) Wow! Northern lights and the Great Dipper!! This could be one of the ultimate window views that I could expect. Mother Nature surely does know how to pose for photographs. However, this is changing forever and could disappear suddenly as we are now traveling more than 700 km/h with 10 km off the ground. Definitely, this is a damn difficult image to capture where my passion for photography comes from. The red cast on the wing comes from the anti-collision light as I managed to synchronize my photo with it. |

N768AA / 7CC (cn 33540/566) Presenting AA's newest T7 and delivered to DFW only hours earlier, I had to wait until after dark for the ladder to finally be rolled away and her giant engines fired to life before I could get a shot of her. Here she is caught easing away from the hangar as she is just being put into service. Special thanks to "Tower" Joe Statz for the inside scoop in the previous days to make this image possible.. Canon 1D2 - ISO800 - F2.8 for 1/100th @ 300mm handheld. |
