HB-ZHY (cn 4220) Samedan is one airport that you absolutely can't get enough of. Every single time the 2hr drive is full of expectations and curiosity, not knowing which gems might stand around at the apron and arrive during the day. If you fancy taking a small break from bizjets, follow the various helicopter movements in the region...it's hard not to get a nice mountain as backdrop for your pictures at SMV! A yellow chopper against a cold, blurred mountain...just nice. |

HB-IJL (cn 603) After a glorious few hours of photography with ever-changing light and a cold front that had passed providing stunning clouds as a backdrop, the sun is about to set and we will soon pack up to head back home. This Airbus 320 is just about to pass the airport security perimeter fence and will touch down on LSZH's rwy 28 in a few seconds. Taken with a 1DmkIII @ 400mm, f7,1, 1/160th, ISO 320. CS-TKN (cn 624) This month of November had been really good for us spotters, with so many different things coming by!! Not being a different A/C, this one deserved some attention... These pilots were caught in some wind shear, and it was really close to total disaster, since the wing almost touched the ground! You can also see the stress in main landing gear... At that time, there were gusts up to 44 knots of crosswind, and heavy turbulence was reported! I'm glad that everything ended up well.. [Canon 40D + Sigma 120-400 |

OV-104 (cn OV-104) "Atlantis" sits on Launch Complex 39 (LC-39) at the John F. Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island in Florida. It contains a 2-piece access tower system, the Fixed Service Structure (FSS) and the Rotating Service Structure (RSS). The FSS permits access to the Shuttle via a retractable arm. The RSS contains the Payload Changeout Room, which offers "clean" access to the orbiter's payload bay, protection from the elements and the orbiter. Here the RSS is open to uncover the orbiter prior to launch. |
